DIFFERENT BETWEEN SISTER CHROMATIDS AND CHROMOSOMESWHAT'ST HE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SISTER CHROMATIDS AND HOMOLOGOUS CHROMOSOMES??? thanks.
_at_:Oscerot, you R partly correct.
Chromosomes are "I" shaped originally, they become "X" shaped at the time of cell division, the other part that is synthesised from original chromosome"I" and called "sister chromatid". Chromosomes are in pair "II" and the time of cell division they become "XX". Ok...?? Nature Bangs On My Mind
Metaphase chromosomes are like that. sister chromatid= when chromosomes get paired you call one of the pairs (they are exactly the same, copy of each other) sister chromatids. homolog chromosome: one taken from mother and one from father. carries genes for same threads, centromers are at the same position and looks like each other, but they are not a copy of each other. It matters not how strait the gate
