Transport MechanismsFirst, I have been trying to figure this out for quite awhile..online and in my notes..and now i'm completely stuck.
We did an experiment about transport in a living system. We "explored the transport of neutral red and sodium carbonate by yeast cells." So, the first thing I don't understand is what is being transported. Are the yeast cells carrier proteins? But aren't they enzymes? So we did all these experiments and recorded color changes and stuff, so now I have to propose a mechanism of transport for these two molecules. But where are they being transported? That's whats confusing me. Sooo...any help would be greatly appreiciated because I'm soooo confused!!
