There is with out question evolutionary changes seen with in species, the Indians in the Andes mountains have abnormally large lungs to deal with the thin air, people living along the equator have dark skin to deal with the intense sun but they are all still human. Where the question about Darwin's theory comes into play is weather a lizard can evolve into a bird, or a fish to a land animal. The experiments the scientists were doing in the article was to force changes on the species (the ecoli bacteria) and making it adapt to new food sources and predicting the changes to see if the adaption's are directly consistent with the forced change or are some adaption just random chance. I'm having trouble putting this in words but here is an other quote from the article that might help. " These laboratory microcosms are allowing researchers to address some of the field's biggest questions, such as how often the twists and turns of evolution are the result of chance rather than adaptation." Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will read the article and clear it up more. I may have misunderstood it myself.? I thought the end was particularly interesting when they introduced an enemy into the equation.

helo mith...i remember that you mentioned genetic memry in stargate?...i havent watched that...i think i just over heard the term from a tv series a long time ago and i just had the idea that it could happen since we receive them from our ancestors. do you think it is possible?how about de javu? does that refer to the same thing? in our dreams or maybe in our subconscious mind...some of these memories of our ancestors are stored. i am thinking that the first organisms or maybe elements stored informations and as they evolve and become us or part of us or the early day prophets and bible writers to be appropriate, the informations are passed but with modifications. "through time...facts could become stories...then legends...becomes myth and later on a part of our subconscious and worse it coild be forgotten" sounds fiction right?but where do fiction come from?
i personally believe that the prophets are the scientists of their times. havent you thought that there could also be a "Gospel of Darwin" in the bible? or a modern bible testament? if we believe in GOD, we would definitely believe in science or vice versa. as i read the story of noah and his sons, i read accounts pertaining to the break of gondwana and eurasia and othr factors that shaped the earth like the great flood. i am wondering also why cain and seth's younger sons have the same names? sons that later became father to noah? could those names mean races or species of early men where homo sapiens came from? that the "cain" subspecies bred with "seth" subspecies and produced the homo sapiens sapiens or "Noah"subspecies? i need some guidance here.... If energy cannot be created nor destroyed then HE could only be the creator and the destroyer, The alpha and omega, the brahma and shiva. If HE neither create nor destroy then HE preserves,The Vishnu.
Genetic memory would be quite hard, as it would probably require the mother to develop the offspring's brain to quite a greater extent. I'm thinking there might need to be some physical wiring involved.
No you can believe in God but not science as unfortunately too many ignorant people might, and there's some who don't see God because they believe everything is empirical. I suggest you read over the whole thread, there's a couple of arguments I made over the course of it. Living one day at a time;
