botany book-help me!!!I'm currently looking for a botany book. I want it to have a well-made presentation of anatomy and structure in all plants, not just seed plants. i am kinda leening towards this.
http://www.amazon.com/Introductory-Plan ... 85-2275207 does anyone have it? is it good for what i need? or can anyone recommend me another book? I don't mind it being expensive, i just want a good book "I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
That was our assigned book for Intro to Botany (as usual we never even used it as all tests were on the proffesors lectures)
But I read it any ways to further understand and found it very good (I got an A). We did use the accompaning lab manual alot and You also will have online access @www.mhhe.com/botany. Well, majority this book discuss about seed plants and for spore plants, it's only minority. This book is also good in presenting anatomy and general physiology of seed plants. But for the details, I think this book lacks it.
I usually concern much on the plant biochemistry, the plant metabolism and I can say that this book lacks some of the details in it. I only pay much attention on this chapter only. Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
@MrMystery,
This is just an introductory text in Botany. You probably need more advanced. But I could copy the contents pages and post them if you would like? yes linn that would be so much help..
PS: i don't need a lot of stuff: a few pages on each type of plant would be ok for me.. "I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
yes..yes..and yes... Maybe that's my destiny of being a soon-to-be-biochemist or soon-to-be-microbiologist Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Here is the contents of phyllum covered.
If there is a particular subject you want information on I can send a few paragraphs pm for you to read and decide if this book is for you, and thus save you the $ and trouble of buying it.
