Divergent and Convergent Evolution - Trophic SpecializationJust wondering how convergent evolution could potentially lead to false classification of some animal phyla, and what major evolutionary lesson do Darwin's finches on the Galapagoes Islands illustrate. Any comments would much appreciated.

Convergent evolution produces similar creatures such as the dolphin and the shark, without examining closely they would probably be considered in the same family/phylum(they look alike). Some other examples would be birds/bats, aardvark/anteater/armadillo.

I guess this illustrates natural selection very well; populations from a common ancestor will adapt to differently to differing environments, eg different beaks for different food sources/uses.
