Respiration

Postby blx » Fri Oct 27, 2006 8:16 am

Hello

Does anyone know anything about the effect of temperature on respiration and why higher temperatures lead to a greater rate of respiration? Im doing an investigation to try to prove that at higher temperatures maggots wriggle more  , due to a higher rate of respiration.

Any help would be really appreciated! :D

As temperature rises , chemical and enzymatic reactions in the cell proceed at more rapid rates, and growth becomes faster. When high cardinal temperature is reached, the proteins denature and growth ceases.
Therefore, please, don't boil these beautiful creatures!
