Wound Healingdoes anyone know where i could find a flow diagram of wound healing phases or something which lists the order things happen, ive tried google but theres nothing very clear which mentions specific cells etc.

u always have nice pix doc
thats about the start of the healing process.. wen the extent (e.g. depth, loss of tissues) of the wound is considered the process could vary... a cut may heal by mere wound closure, but if chronic like an ulcer, or burn injury, by contraction and reepithelialization... ^_^ Last edited by honee_v on Thu Oct 19, 2006 3:21 pm, edited 2 times in total.

healing process in general 3 phasesmost wounds would undergo 3 general phases: inflammatory, proliferative and tissue remodelling phases
starts with blood clotting --> sends out signals to call for polymorphonuclear cells... then comes the monocytes (for phagocytosis and release of growth factors)... these generally happen during inflammatory phase... then the proliferative phase, which consists of about 3 processes: fibroblast proliferation (for collagen deposition and wound contraction) and epithelial proliferation (to generate new epithelial cells) and angiogenesis - basically to replace damaged or lost cells lastly the tissue remodelling phase, which is remodelling (collagen degradation, resynthesis and maturation) and scar formation... all these are in general... healing process involves several mechanisms... ^_^ "Why you care about small things?
