Hmm, my friend had swollen nymph glands on his neck, they were really interesting...
But I don't think he has AIDS... Could there be something else that causes similiar effects of HIV/AIDS?! What are they? ...

I think I'll visit my good friend google...

Swollen lymph glands can be caused by many things. It is a manifetstaion of an activation of the immune system. HIV/AIDS is not the most likely explanation Local infections, many virus... can cause it. Other symptoms will guide you, or even better a registered health professional for diagnosis.

I thought we needed a particular type HIV test that measures ones CD4 count but after consult w/ a molecular Dr. they said that anytype of autoimmune disease, such as Lupus could alter the reading of the CD 4 Count so to make sure you get an HIV test that measures your viral load.

An HIV test can be done after four to six weeks and tests for antibodies; these may be non-specific and therefore the confirmatory test is a Western Blot of viral proteins in one's serum (this is less sensitive but more specific). As said before, generally these are not done in the acute stage as the symptoms of the acute infection are very non-specific.

The link between Chagas and PCP is wrong; Chagas is caused by a protozoan and PCP is caused by a fungus. Both are treated differently.
