I was going to ask if you could have blue and brown what with the blue being recessive but this answers my question. Presumably this is rarer than one blue and one green?

changing

Postby firefli2003 » Tue Sep 18, 2007 3:16 pm

I also have two different color eyes. My right eye is always blue and my left eye changes back and forth between blue and green. It makes me sad to read that people were teased about their eyes...I never had that experience, everyone always thought it was so cool. When I first meet new people, sometimes they get confused though, cause one time they'll see me and my eyes will both be blue, and the next time one is blue and one is green.

anyway, no one in my family has green eyes, both of my parents have blue. From the research i've done, nobody else's change color, they are just always different. Does anyone else have a changing eye?

london_beckons, the stats are roughly 4:1,000,000 people have two different color eyes. as far as the breakdown, blue and brown vs. blue and green, i don't know.

two different colored-eyes

Postby person.... » Sat Nov 24, 2007 11:49 pm

I have two different colored eyes too, but with me it's different my right eye is green with a brown stripe in it and my left is brown with a green stripe in it. I was just wondering if it is kind of rare to have those two colors? I don't think about it often but it is kind of strange but I like having two different colored eyes. Peopel drive me crazy about having two different colored eyes they would stare at me, always look at me when eye color was mentioned, one person ran away from me yelling that I had two different colored eyes and one guy calls me a witch every day!!!!! some peopel are not very nice! I do love my eyes and I never want them to change. It is what makes me speacial! :P :D :)

Will somone please answer me!

There was a girl in my high school who had one brown eye and one blue eye. It looked kinda cool, imo. I'm sure she got tired of people staring at her and asking questions, though.

I also have two different colored eyes, left brown and right blue. It's been that way as long as I can remember. My daughter has the same thing but not a prominant as mine. I love peoples reaction when they first notice.

In my genetics cross i was taught that this is the result of a mitotic crossing-over. A fairly rare phenomenon actually...
