two different color eyesModerator: BioTeam Re: two different color eyesI discovered recently that one of my eyes is greenish gray and one is bright blue. The green gray one never seemed to be shone. But they also change colors. Sometimes the eyes shift. One can be gray, and one is green. Or my left is blue and my right is gray. Vice versa. I don't know, something's odd about it. But I visited a Native American reservation and they told me that I am lucky to have two different colored eyes. We were doing an "All About Me" Essay once and I couldn't determine my eye color. My teacher told me to put down, my eyes are different shades of blue. I think it's cool. It'd be even cooler if the colors matched my emotions... like mood eyes
Re: two different color eyesMy son has two colored eyes too. For those of you who want the name of the Syndrome it is called Waardenburg Syndrome. Hope this helps.
Re: two different color eyes[color=#FF4000]I have one eye that's hazel and the other one is half hazel and half green and i was wondering if there's anyone else that has the same thing? For the longest time i would never look anybody in the eye because I didn't want them to notice my eyes and start asking me dumb questions.."like did you know your contact broke,do you see two different colors, and so on and so on." My mom has dark brown eyes and my dad has blue eyes and my sister has dark brown eyes and im the only one in my family that has eyes like this....And i've never come across anyone else with eyes like mine and i was just wondering if i was the only one that had eyes like this..
There is something called Atavism....that is sometime some traits of grand or grand grand parents are expressed in the succesive offsprings. Could be one reason. Secondly, if it's Y linked trait, that may come through father....need not be homologous pairing.
I think the two color is blue and brown..my doughtier have blue eyes and my son have the brown...but i think blue color is so attractive.......
Re: two different color eyesI have green eyes, but my left eye is 1/3 brown. I can't quite say half because it is very noticeable that I have green eyes. My dad's side of the family is all blue or green eyes. My mom's is all brown, except for one cousin who has blue eyes. I am the only one in the family with two different colors in one eye. As a kid, I hated people staring at me, asking me crazy questions. Now I just joke about it, telling people my eyes couldn't decide which parent to take after, so my left eye decided to take after both. It helps break the ice when some people feel uncomfortable about getting caught staring.
Re: two different color eyes
I don't think that this is completely true, however it make a lot of sense. I don't know about other people with Heterochromia, but not only are my eyes different colors but so is my hair and skin pigment. It is subtle but when i look closely i can see a contrast. Let me know if anyone else notices this.
Re: two different color eyesI have the same thing. My eyes were both blue when I was born, then turned completely green and later my right eye filled brown and stopped half way across my eye. Was very noticeable when I was younger but when I reached puberty weirdly enough the brown faded slightly. Oh, apparently I have a great aunt who had one blue and one brown eye. Must be genetic I suppose.

Re: two different color eyesi also have 2 different colored eyes my right is blue and left is brown but if you look at the iris i also have two blue triangles in the brown eye and 2 brown triangles in the blue eye i have read up on it some what but still do not understand why my eyes are like this ! my mom has blue /green eyes and my dad also has baby blue eyes !! my whole life teachers looked at me like i had a glass eye now that i am an adult i want to know more cause i still get the odd look once in a while !! what's wrong with me??
I have a brown eye and a blue eye I was born with blue eyes and before I was one week old my left eye turned brown. They are completely different my brown is very brown and my blue eye is a shade of bright blue. I can see I can hear, Im just very curious about the subject, and wonder why this happened. I get lots of complements about this and people ask why so I am looking for a simple explanation other than I am special.
