observing evolution

Hey y'all, its been a while since ive posted. I have been a little busy.

I wanted to start a discussion about origins in respect to the cosmos, life, and life forms. All supposed evolutionary phenomena of these particular topics obviously occured way before recored, human history began.

Does that play a role in the ability to "observe" these phenomena? Specifically, I was a bit undone by NASA's claim to "travel back through time to witness these crucial steps in our origins".

Does NASA have a time machine? (note some sarcasm here)

I don't know how we got here but neither is that the point of my post which you're referring to.

Even if we don't have a creator, it doesn't mean we can't live meaningful and purposeful lives. You make it sound like all heathens who don't believe in god just live for the moment. Way to show your holier than thou attitude.

Biotchr, I highly suggest that you make sure you know what you're talking about before you go running your mouth.

For example, you claim that you are forced to teach my religion to your students, which shows that you have no idea what my religion is. I am a Roman Catholic, so unless you teach in a Catholic school, you are not required to teach my religion to anyone. And if you do teach at a Catholic school, and don't want to teach Catholicism, then get another job. No one is forcing you to teach anything.

I still haven't figured out what your religion is, but you obviously don't read the Bible, or believe in anything it teaches, so that rules out Christianity. Whatever your religion is, your arrogance indicates that it must be a very elitist belief system, to say the least.

These are religious questions that I just am unsure that science is able to tackle. When it attempts to scientists remind me more of old men with long, gray beards sitting atop stones and philosophizing. Science deals with the experimental and where we've come from has too much philosophical/religious appeal to be considered unbiased enough to experiment with.

As mentioned previously, one who lives for the moment is perpetually questioning from where they came and to where they go. The moment only lasts for now which is not too long, then what comes next? Extrapolate and all the sudden the future is actually the most important state one can percieve. I figure since evolutionists like the ones at NASA are so good at "observing" the past, maybe they will start a fortune telling business to tell me where evolution is supposedly going to take us. Observing the past in terms of distant, deep time reminds me more of a soft, forensic application of science where scientists are simply incorporating clues into their storytelling and attempting to piece a story together. This is not reflective of pure, experimental science that observes phenomena puts them to test.

More importantly the forenisic application is done under the pretense of an opinion of the existence and role of a creator which is picturesque of religion.

Do you know what religion is?

Roman Catholicism is not the only religion.

And if you do teach at a Catholic school, and don't want to teach Catholicism, then get another job. No one is forcing you to teach anything.

Since I take the Bible literally I guess, according to you, I do not know what it says nor am I a Christian.

My religion is not forced down the throats of unsuspecting young people following the old addage "get em' while their young". Do you know at what age children first are forced to learn they have evolved from glorified apes?
