Urine analysis, found something strange.Hey guys! I have a very important question. Today, we were doing urine analysis in class, using centrifuge and microscope. Each person had to bring their own urine sample to analyse.
While we were doing that, we found some weird cells in one of the guy's urine. It looked like a chromosome, in terms of the shape, like an "X", green. Of course, it cannot be a chromosome, so I was wondering if any of you guys know what this particular cell could be. In fact, he had a lot of those cells. Some were broken in half, I guess, but most of them looked like chromosomes. Please let me know your opinions on this. Maybe someone knows what those cells are or at least what it's presence in the guy's urine means. Thanks!
Try looking at this site.
It's from a vet school but I would have thought that human urine might have some of the same sediments. http://www.diaglab.vet.cornell.edu/clinpath/modules/ua-sed/ua-intro.htm
He should better see a doctor, I think. We are not proffessionals on that subject.
I will try to find more info about it. It matters not how strait the gate

I asked about the thing you saw while examining urine to a proffessor.
She said than she cannot give accurate info without seeing the particle. but she also told that bacteria or yeast doesn't look green. (of course this is a general guessing) It can probably be a drug particle. You know drug particles are excreted from body with urine. Also, the pH or the urine is important. normal urine pH is about 5,8-6,8. but sometimes urine can be basic. (about pH 7,2-7,5) in this situation, there can be some extraordinay particles. She said the person should examine the urine for a second or a third time. this can be useful to be sure. Hope this helped... It matters not how strait the gate

I don't think it would be a drug, if these particles really are cells.
I asked a couple of potheads I know (they know a suprisingly large amount when it comes to drugs), and they never heard of this type of result. Most drugs make you release chemicals in your urine, not cells. It might be cells sloughing off of the inside of the bladder, caused by some infection. He should see a doctor. Kyle
I didn't meant illegal drugs only. it can be antibiotics too.
Animal cells usually do not look green, i think... It matters not how strait the gate
