Hot water = safe to drink? Some people think they will get better when drinking hot water.
True or not? Can it really make your body better?
Well, boiled and then cooled water is recommende as it is supposed to be free from harmful bacteria which will get destroyed at high temp.
Some people drink hot water to reduce the weight as a supposed idea that hot water will help to get rid of the fat deposited on the belly.
Nah...that's really a gossip..
If you boil the water and then cooling it down, I think it's also no better than usual drinking water (uncook one) because, by boiling it, the water could lose some of it's dissolved oxygen and some electrolytes... so..? Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Victor,
It depends where you live. I lived in southern Mexico for 3 years and you can't drink the tap water there without treating it some way. Boling for 5 minutes (or use of iodine, or other treatments) is necessary to kill of parasites that live in the water. Of course, most people just drink bottled water instead, but if you're going to drink it out of the tap, you better do something with it. With water that's been chemically treated, boiling it will also help evaporate the chlorine treatment. As for losing electrolytes, that's unlikely. Electrolytes are disolved ions that won't evaporate from boiling water (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc). Try boiling salty water until all the water's gone. What do you have left? Salt. Because the water evaporates long before the salt. I suspect that most people who boil treated water (like you find in the U.S. and other industrial nations), probably boil it to get rid of the chlorine treatment in the water. This probably is slightly better for you than unboiled water. I'm have no doubt it will taste better (if you wait for it to cool after boiling it, of course). Pete
What about salt water? is that any better for you. My girlfriends mom told me to drink some because of my sour throat... And what about that white soda thing? Does sprite or 7 up really settle the stomach?
drinking very salt water will cause water to leave your intestinal cells by osmosis. And that is a bad thing

beside, I think you won't like it because it's very salty.. Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
high salt water gargle is a very commonly used treatement here, which causes the throat bacteria to die due to exosmos & still it is not kept for long in your oesophagus so ur cells also are mostly safe.
Water at different temp than body temp, may have different responses - its temp affects gases, nervous activation , cold water decreases heart beat to normal when you have it increased. while if it is at same temp as body, it moslty won't affect these things [supossing it just water there], right?
