Mechanism of Action of Ampicillin

Could anyone help me here? Why can ampicillin penetrate and prevent the growth of gram-negative bacteria while penicillin G cant? :?:

the effects of penicillin G is less than that of ampicillin.this may be involved in the mechanism of related enzymes.
