Mouthwash

Are you supposed to wash your mouth with water after you have used mouthwash?
I don't want those chemicals inside my body...

By washing your mouth with water, won't that take away the mouthwash too? Or do I have to wait a few minutes before I wash my mouth with water?

Well, you see....
The concept of using mouthwash is simpy to kill bacteria in your mouth using a blend on many chemicals, mainly SD alcohol. These chemicals are not nessicarily harmful to you, as long as they are in low volumes. if you were to drink 350mLs of that stuff, you would end up getting a bit dizzy, and a headache soon after. So, the only reason you would have to rince your mouth after using mouthwash would be that it may taste a bit nasty depending on the brand. They print on the bottle how long to rince with the moutwash for (usually 30-50 seconds) because thats the avg. time it takes to kill of most the bacteria for that particular concentration. So No, you dont have to wait for a bit, and No, you dont have to worry about the chemicals.

If you are still wondering, SD alcohol is denatured ethanol. it is the addition of a benzoate that causes the denaturing, to make it so that people dont drink it. of course some still do, and it is quite bad for your system. as for why the letterd SD are used, i am not entirely sure. hope that helps
