I think what was meant is that as the universe expands, and the total amount of energy in the universe remains the same, then energy is becoming less "dense" or less abundant.

When the universe was concentrated in a point , then also , same q arises - What's that which contains it ? and what does contain that ... I just don't ink it is possible to get
answers...
But about expansion and energy- When in a thermodynamic system in adiabetic conditions , expansion occurs the system does work on the surroundings , and thus energy equivalent to that work is transfferred from sys. to surr. I think this should also happen in this case...

I appologise, i didn't read all that was posted.
Now, if you accept the Big Bang and the string theories then you also must aceept it's brother theory: the big cruch theory. What you described is named big crunch. As far as I know, the string theory estimates that the end of the world-big crunch- is in 100 bilion years or something like that. it can be estimated but i am not sure about the figure
