I have been reading all the posts and it has given me great info to take back to my non concerned MD....I had my thyroid tested and get the results monday.....

my bio: always been around the same weight since HS. At 26 had my one and only child, lost all the weight (=10 :D )within the year. I maintained that weight and lifestyle for 3 years. Within the last year I have gained 20lbs, 9 in the last 4 WEEKS!! Jan 07 I joind curves lost 6lbs and 14" I couldn't have been more happy to see that I could diet and exercise and it work, I have always been active I have worked for Fedex for 9 yaers now, hard work, that was a work out daily. Since march 07 I have gained it all back PLUS! My stomach always looks bloated feels bloated and I look pregnant! I have not changed anything since I joined curves and lost the weight, I dont understand what is going on with my body. I went to my MD, she didn't care that I had gaind 9lbs since my last visit 4 weeks ago. I explained my syptoms and concerns she said nothing untill i mentioned hormones and my last two 1 day practically non existant. I explained that i had taken 3 pregnancy tests, just in case, all neg. Then she orderd my thyroid test.

Some of the responses are very good on here, I go back monday, if she claims there in nothing wrong, and gives me the diet and exercise lecture, i will switch MDs and go to another who is willing to listen to my concerns, I know my body better than anyone, if i say something is not right, then.....

from the good responses on here i have some info to ask my OBGYN or new MD. thanks ladies :)

I am so happy to hear i am not the only one! I cry almost evey other day when i look in the mirror, my supportive loving boyfriend doesnt understand what is going on either. I have never had "issues" with my body image, Ill be darned if get them 30! I suck my stomach in when i walk into a room of people just to make it look flatter. I hate what is going on. You ladies have no idea how happy i was to hear other women have had and are having the same problems i am.

wanted to add..........

i have been researching this like mad............

and i came across pelvic inflammatory disease, wich is caused by bacteria.

has anyone been checked for this?

it says most women dont know they have it, it can cause infertility.......

i am almost curious to ask my obgyn about it, I know it would not be an STD in my case, (been checked) but i do use tampons, which just introduce bacteria each time you use them. ....hmm.....I wonder?

KMAS, a light went off above my head  . Of course, Grandma had the cure. SO I just took my bloated stomach over to the cabinet, pulled out the white vinigar, put 4 table spoons in a cup of water, drank (choked) it down and I'm already starting to feel better. Over the past few weeks this hasn't been happening as much and I think its because I've been popping 2 magnesium supplements every other day and sometimes every day. They are making me very regular with very healthy you know whats  . (I too eat very healthy and stay very fit.) For foods that make me gassy  , I'm taking beano. I don't take it all the time, just when I need it. I need to think portion control. That would help. Eating smaller meals and more meals. .. Magnesium is difficult to OD on so don't worry. ... Bon Appitite! :D

Bloated and not loving it......

I'm also glad that Ive found other women with the same problem as me. I first started out with missing my period for 2 months. I have never been irregular in my life except for when I was pregnant. Over the past 2 months since I have missed my periods, Ive been feeling really bloated. After missing my period for 2 months I just started getting my menstral. I started off really light spotting and now bleeding really heavily. Its now almost a whole month having my period. I thought maybe that was the reason for my feeling so bloated. I know something else is wrong with me, and Im so irritated by this. I look _at_ least 5 months pregnant and im so much in discomfort. I dont eat as much as I feel. Its just horrible. I did see my dr. and she said I should go and see my gyenecologist. For what reason, I dont even know. I dont know what kind of dr I should even go and see. Anyone out there with some answers, please let me know. :( :? :x

hi all
I have just done month on a candida free diet - I felt great after a couple of days, my stomach was quite flat - hardly any bloating and as a bonus I lost 7lbs too. The constipation was much better too - I went to the loo probably every 2-3 days. It is recommended to do the diet for 1-4 months to rid your body of excess yeast i obviously did nt do it long enough as within 2 days of stopping the diet I am once again constipated and bloated .[/url]

Hello,I am thrilled to find this site. Last week I woke with my stomach bloated very bloated. My heath for last 10 years has been a downhill slide. I am unable to handle stress, get angry and I have a temp spike, flu like chills ,fever, headache etc. When the stomach bloating started i had been given very stressful news. Has anyone associated this with stress? I have not gone to Dr.,I am out of town for summer and have Dr.appointments when I go home.

Have you guys checked your blood?

Hello, everyone,

Here is another chronically fatigued, bloated and gasy 27-year-oldgirl, who eats nutritious food (bran cereal with fa free milk in the morning, yoghurt or fruit for snack, dried fruit, nuts, fish and lean meats with veggies and whole grains for dinner, etc.) exercises 4-5 times a week and is otherwise pretty healthy.
I read all of your posts and have similar symptoms, my belly has always been bigger than normal and I have farted for as long as I can remember myself. 15 pounds overweight is pretty much a norm for me and I have given up on getting rid of it, which I sometimes can with rigorous several hours a day exercise for a month or so. Since I work and go to school such regimen is really not possible. I drink plenty of fluids (3 quarts of water) a day and only one cup of coffe, if that. Lately my heartburn has been too severe to endure the acidity of coffee. I was lactose intolerant for a short period of time but developed the necessary bacteria to digest lactose by drinking small amounts of milk and gradually increase to a normal dairy intake.
Anyway, I did some research on this and came to a conclusion that perhaps Anemia - a blood disorder could be blamed for the symptoms. The fact that some of you guys experience your most severe symptoms around menstruation is really a pointer (also, most of us here are gals), because the menstruation presents a significant blood loss and iron loss. Also some of you gals started to experience the symptoms after pregnancy and a pregnancy can be a trigger for Anemia.
I will try to schedule an appointment to see my doctor after September 5, when I am back in town, to check my red blood cell count, but meanwhile I will take a B vitamin supplement and will go and buy an iron supplement today to see if it helps. Some foods like dairy prevent iron absorption, I wonder, if I became lactose intolerant, my body was telling me something:)
Good luck to you all and let's keep each other posted!

Please read about Anemia on-line, I wasn't able to post a link as a first time blogger here. Sorry!

I too have had weight gain and stomach bloating, like you are pregant. I have recently had surgery to repair one kidney that wasn't working correctly and the 30 lbs. I had gained over the past years is gone. I had so much water retention and they told me that I had IBS, that has gone since I have the surgery.

I'm new to this site, male 47 years old. I've been told I have IBS (hasn't everybody?) but my symptoms are abdominal distention and weight gain that despite (like many of you it seems) exercise and good diet just won't go. Prior to getting this I could always control my weight.
Thoughts?

I have had the same problem for over a year now. I did find out I have fibriods. My doctor at Hopkins said it is not unsual to look pregant with them. I also that found that when I was on the zone at home diet the bloating went way down and I lost weight easily. So I am wondering if I have some kind of food alllery perhaps as well. I would love to stay on the diet as a life choice which they also offer but I can't afford it. Also does anyone know where to get clothes? I look normal in weight other then my stomach which can expand to 41 inches. I go out and try on clothes and just cry.
