Hi. All I can say here is, well, parasites.
If you saw a dog or puppy with a very bloated belly, what would be your first thought?
Yet all these bloated humans, on a biology site no less, but I don't see much about parasites.
Of course, "everyone knows" that people in developed countries don't get parasites. Only the house pets of people in developed countries need to be checked for or treated for parasites. It seems that when we became wealthy developed countries, all parasites that might affect human beings leo ned up for visas to travel to poorer countries, although all parasites that might affect the pets of those same people, and who live in the same ultra clean rich environments as their masters, those parasites elected not to move away to poor countries.
Now this is not to imply whatsoever that only persons with pets need to be concerned about parasites. They are found wherever an animal of any sort might poop. In the dirt, the dirt in gardens all over the world, from which such things as carrots, potatoes, radishes, beets, and other root crops are pulled. Now animals might not care much If they poop on leaves, so we need not expect them to be fastidious about not soiling other garden foods. In recent years more and more of our foods are imported from other countries. Some use let us say substandard fertilizers?
They are found in people too, all over the world. Including rich people and poor people. And
middle-class people too. Sometimes people don't take the time to wash their hands really thoroughly, even some adult well dressed people don't. (A quick rinse and dry in the washroom of public places...not enough. Doesn't happen in developed countries? Next time you're in a restaurant washroom, take note of how others wash their hands, or don't.) And did you know that eggs from a
person infected with some parasites can be coughed out? Yep. True.
Today try to keep count of how many times you touch your own mouth or nose near the nostrils.
Or have a partner keep count for you, maybe. You might be surprised.

And, here's the big problem:if you have a test for ova and parasites, even three stool specimens,
and get a negative result, that does NOT mean you don't have parasites!
However if you get a positive result you most definitely do.

I have already written on this site twice regarding parasites, and don't wish to be repetitive, so just look under my name and read a couple posts. If you can't find it, let me know.

Hi all -I recently experienced excessive bloating and I had a fair bit of pain. I decided to try eating 3 table spoons of plain yogurt, and within about an hour, my bloating was just about all gone and my pain was gone

hi Wallyanna,

I'm new here and for some reason can't send you a PM, so will you please respond here or PM me where else you wrote about parasites? Very interested.

Thanks.

I've been suffering from this for months, massive belly bloat which leaves me looking heavily pregnant :( I can go from a uk size 10 to a 16 in half an hour after eating or drinking tea and coffee . The reason food intolerance's and a Dairy allergy. I felt tired and achy all the time too, like I had the flu on the way. The swollen stomach is actually fluid retention down to histamine and not gas as I thought, no wonder all the IBS meds never worked!!

Recently diagnosed and already feeling better for cutting out Dairy... I have a flat stomach again! I paid for the tests myself though as my GP is hopeless!! He puts any stomach troubles down to stress or ibs. Something is irritating your bowel.

I thought this might help some of you who are suffering as I know how depressing it can be!

I have posted before. Been dealing with this for about a year now. Bloated like I am 9 months pregnant. No other symptoms except the bloating that sometimes pushes and makes it hard to breathe at times. Had every test possible done...upper, lower, stomach emptying, girly tests to rule out cancer, food allergy, food intolerance, three breath tests, etc. Did some more research online and read about birth control pills being the possible culprit. I am on Seasonique and don't even have the four periods a year as I just continue on to the next pack to not have one at all. This was all okay with my Dr as I have a bad low back and I would get really bad back pain with the period. My quality of life has sucked for almost a year now. Decided to go off my pills after being on BCP's for over 10 plus years. After two days of going off of them, no more bloating. All of the Dr's knew I was on BCP's but none of them ever suggested that they could be the problem. Of course, neither did I. I am going to give it two months to make sure. It's been almost a week now and I am pretty sure those were my problem. I may need to test other brands of BCP or have the boyfriend go in for a snip snip.

im sorry to hear there is so many of us with the same problem...maybe my story can help...after 20yrs...i have an answer to my misery... ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM..... I to was bloated and swollen...all test that u can image were done, then my doctor was present at my ultra sound and found my ANEURYSM...not the gall bladder, not liver, not ibs flare up and last but not least...no pregancy or lost mind....was told it is more common in men than in women and that is why they dont look for it, mine was on the verge of rupture when it was spotted, so i was rushed to surgery that indeed saved my life...if it had been caught earlier...they could have stent placement instead of surgery...so not i am ONLY CURED...i am ALIVE to tell this story...my doctor told me if it had burst, it might had been a different story... so please have ur doctor order a ultra sound on your stomach and have them look for that possibilty...it may SAVE YOUR LIFE...keep you all in my prayers...

hi, im 36 and have been having these problems since i was about 16. The bloating has been so bad it affects my breathing and have to take pain med as well. the only thing that has relieved the bloating, pain, going to the toilet ect; is replacing what the stomach is not producing. Don't let doctors make you believe it's in your head or it's you that's causing it by how your thinking this is a real condition of the body and is being recognised more now. You must make sure they check for everything and don't be fobbed off.
Due to toxins in our food and all around us our body's are affected our hormones have a great affect on how our body's work and are directly affected yes by stress but also our lives how we live, eat, breath. When they have checked all other avenues and you are on here please try this and tell people to try this also. We need to replace what is lost especially when taking antibiotic's, medication, not eating properly. read up on it and you'll be surprised at what it say's, try it and like me you will be shocked. After taking the first capsule with my food I actually burped for the first time in years, my food was moving and not just getting stuck, after 1 a day for two days my stomach was not swollen. I could go on about more things but i this should be enough for you to at least investigate and try

I am sorry but all of you are of different age and have different medical issues already, and are taking different medications. I dont think you should be offering each other medical advice at all. Your symptoms also differ greatly

For 10yrs I have been living with this problem. I have visited gastrointerologists everywhere n I have done many tests. All they came up to was IBS. Nobody could help with this bloating. Everytime it happens my belly grows 3 sizes n is painfull to walk or do anything. It actually feel like Im a balloon full of air n about to explode. It happens wether I eat or not n when I eat anything can trigger it. I have been on almost every medicine out there. Im totally frustrated.

Your bloating is from an intestinal food intolerance..
I had 24/7 bloating for 5 years and gained 20 pounds. I've spent over $30,000 in doctors bills.
You need to get a "REAL" comprehensive food allergy test done through the blood. It checked over 400 different foods. Yes, it was expensive...around $1,000 but insurance covered half. I found out i was allergic to about 20 different foods that didn't come up in a regular food allergy test. gluten, dairy, coconut, green peas, almonds, lima beans etc...
I've taken these foods out of my diet and in 3 months bloating is totally gone and weight back to normal..THANK GOD!
Get a test done.. there is a lab in deerfield beach florida your doctor can send the blood to..you'll get the results in 2 weeks with a recommended diet. I'd give you the name of the place but everytime I try to this site deletes my message. I'm trying to help. I know what your going through... Take the test!!! Look up the lab on the net
