when u say psychological trauma do u mean if a loved one dies u could get amnesia due to the shock?
is it rare?

I am refering to amnesia fugue(
I will have to see if that is correct way to say)
A severe trauma like when someone has a tramatic, violent event, and he brain sort of "shuts itself off" to protect itself from psychological damage.
As brouht ou it is not very common though.
There have been cases, so I have heard,
documented of people found wandering around years
after they went missing, with no recolection of what happened
or where they had previously been.

PS: have any of you taken any psych classes yet?
They usualy discuss memory and trauma
(at least we did in my classes)

And I suppose it could happen from a loved one dying, but It would be having witnessed that loved one die in a terrible way

So there have been a few true cases (few as there were)

It's called traumatic amnesia. I don't know if it is psychological or physical. The duration of the traumatic amnesia (in relation to a head injury) usually depends upon the severity of the head injury.

Personal experience so I don't know anymore.
