tritrophic interactions

i'm researching what i consider to be a tritrophic interaction between earwigs, their parasitoids and consequent hyperparasitoids.

whenever i find "tritrophic interactions" in articles it always has a plant at the base of the interaction, not an animal. e.g. plants, herbivores and their parasitoids.

i just want to check that i am using the right term and that there isn't another better.
