Extra Sensory PowersHi
I've heard a lot of people talk about ESP or Extra Sensory Powers. Do they existy, i mean such powers associated with ur dreams and stuff. They don't right? I mean, that's just biologicallyimposible, right? Thanx VeenaandNivyah
there was a test done on some certain ESP and it turned out negative on all the ones ive heard of, dreams are to do with your sub-conscience (prob spelt that wrong), i dont beleive personally in ESP as its far-fetched to be real, its only really a dream some people have made up in hope that they hve some form of super powers or at least thats wat i think
Read up on James Randi(the magician) and his efforts to debunk sleight of hand and whatnot involved in most instances of "paranormal" activity.

That's right. Have you seen the movie "Minority Report" (i think that's the name, not sure Thanx VeenaandNivyah
glad u agree, i think ESP is a load of twoddle
then again who knows wat the inactive parts of our brains do!
Can the inactive parts of our brain, actually SEE the future. I feel, it's usually by some kinda sheer luck.

Well, currently we have no way of knowing that scientifically, so it depends on whether you're a believer of the scientific method or something else. But to scientist it's a little hard to acknowledge something like that.
It might be able to see into the future, but then you'll have to assume that the future is already determined and that free will is an illusion. To some that's even a harder pill to swallow. Living one day at a time;

Agreed, seeing the future means knowing what everyone is going to think and do...

Actually, some believe that "prophesies" only tell what might happen, not what's guaranteed to happen. But I still wouldn't put my faith in it, since most such predictions are only made after the fact. For example, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, everyone wanted to claim that Nostradamus or some other psychic had predicted it, but such claims are worthless if we can't tell what's going to happen before it actually happens.[/code]
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

What might happen? Cool! The Sun will explode in 10 seconds. It might happen, although not a very big probability. Still there? Aaaaaaaaaaah

Even if the future were predefined, there's no biological mechanism that should allow someone to have advanced knowledge of it. Maybe there is more to the world than what we see, but for now it's all purely speculation, and it's all metascience.
Exactly... There's this psychic guy in our locality who predicted that the tsunami would occur again b'fore 2010 and that over half of our city would be vanquished. Honestly, he said that there would be an earthquake in the Himalayas and that half of India would be destroyed...AND he even said thet the Sun is gonna explode. (that's the stuff u were talking abt, Mr Mistery). WHAT A PILE OF CRAP. VeenaandNivyah
