Fungi Culture

Hi ,
I am doing work on A. niger. I have grown this culture but now I won't be using it for 2 days. Is there some way of arresting further growth. PLease help me out .

Yeah.. you can just put the culture in the fridge at 4oC. Aspergillus sp. prefers warmer conditions to grow.. however by subjecting it to long term refridgeration may lead to altered growth states, eg, increased sporulation etc etc good luck....

Yes my concern is what are you planning to do with the culture after its been in the fridge. it should still be alive, but metabolically fairly dormant.

Gloves should be changed after contact with each patient. Hands and other skin surfaces should be washed immediately after gloves are removed. When collecting blood, genital, tissue, cerebrospinal and other body fluid specimens universal cautions for the prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens should be followed.
