Species

Postby James on Sat Mar 19, 2005 1:08 am

How do we decide when two organisms are of a different species, as opposed to being variations of the same species? I used to think species could be defined as when organisms from one species cannot hybridize with one from another species, however this has too many exceptions to the rule, especially in plants. Is it possible to put every organism into a certain species or could some be half way between 2 species?
