Does anyone know about calcium phosphate and bone?

Is calcium phosphate just a component of hydroxyapatie crystals or does it have another function independent of hydroxyapatite crystals and collagen fibers contributing to the hardness of bone

Bone consists of two parts:a solid mineral material and a second phase made up primareily of collagen proteins. The mineral is a comp[ound Calcium hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2.

Bone material is continuously being absorbed and reformed. When more is lost than formed osteoporosos occurs.That's all I know from textbook
