What exactly is DNA made of? What are the A, C, T, and G made of? Is it protein?

DNA is a nucleic acid. It consists of a sugar-phospate backbone on the perimeter with nitrogenous bases more central (given double-stranded DNA) Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine and Thymine are the bases and pair up via hydrogen bonding.

DNA is NOT a protein. It is nucleic acid.
A DNA molecule consists of two long strands of nucleotids. Each nucleotide is made of deoxyribose (a sugar), a phosphate ion and a nitrogenous base( Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine Tymine). A strand forms(by dehydration synthesis) when covalent bonds develop between the sugar of one nucleotide and phosphate of another. The nitogenous bases project outward at right angles from the strand of sugar annd phosphate. the two strands of a DNA molecule are joined byr H-bonds between their bases. (A-T makes 2 bonds , C-G makes 3 bonds between each other) While each H- bond is relatively weak, the many bonds between many bases form a stable connection between two strands of nucleotides. The entire molecule is then twisted into a helix., called a double helix because of two strands.
