Hw HELP-frequencyIn a population of 70 slugs, we have 20 indidviduals exhibiting the very slimy trait, which is caused bu the dominant allele (S=very slimy, s=not so slimy). The rest are not so slimy. What is the frequency of p?
Please i need the answer its due tomorrow!!!!!!

It's likely just a simple matter... p2+pq+q2=1, remember that hardy-weinberg formula? I think ur problem can be solved with that. Let me try... you say 50 slugs are not so slimy, it means there are 50 slugs have ss genotype. 50/70=.... that is the frequency of ss the frequency of s gene is.. v(50/70)... I mean the squareroot of the result above. Next, you can find out the S gene frequency and also SS as well, by substituting q (in the formula) with the result of v(50/70) so: p2+p(v(50/70))+(50/70)=1 I guess you can finish this equality
