Leeches

Well...I like Leeches and i want to learn more about them so any information(Websites abt them)on them would me most welcomed by me.
I would love to learn abt Leeches tht likes to suck blood so if u could give me information abt this would be nice but information on other types of leeches r still welcomed!!

Hey, they are cute things, aren't they?
I don't know why you all are so afraid of them...i always wanted to have a few leeches as my pets, but unfortunately in here we don't have such species

I'm sorry I can't help you out with any website but I like leeches also. They don't hurt or cause any damage if they bite you (unlike ticks who can spread disease). They are used in medical practices to help with poor circulation or when something gets re-attached. Like, if someone’s finger got cut off and they put it back on if a leech is sucking on the end of the reattached finger it helps a lot with having the body accept the attached finger by having the leech help with circulation.
ANOTHER cool thing about leeches is their anti-clotting agent they use when sucking. Scientist are trying to find out more about this to help people that have to take blood thinners because blood thinners are so dangerous (if you fall you could die because of internal bleeding.) Scientist think that leeches could give humans the answers to stop clotting in certain areas instead of the whole body and find a safer way to prevent dangerous blood clots.
Pretty amazing creatures, I think.
I would let a leech help me out with no problem, but there are some of these medical reminds I don’t think I would try. Like using a pork tapeworm to help with IBS or Crones disease. But leeches I'm just fine with.

PS- I wonder if we could find good anti-clotting agents from vampire bats, too. Probably would rather use leeches because of the dangers of rabies in bats.

They also secrete substances which have an anaesthetic effect, preventing the victim from being aware that the leech is feeding. The exact nature of these substances is still unknown.

Leeches r quiet cute i like them too. Wen i grow up i would love to study on them and cross breed them as u get Ligers and Tigons hehe!!

Hey! I have a question if a leech bites me how do i remove it form my skin bcuz i have heard tht wen pulled a leech strecthes its body. i m trying to find how in google if any1 happens to know plz tell me

They will remove themselves when they are full of your blood. If you force them to release, you will start to bleed because they secrete anticoagulant during sucking your blood.

Just wait until they finish, then take them, provide a cup, press their body to take back your blood into the cup, and put it beck into your body (I don't recommend any ways, decide your own way)

or using a tobacco leaves...smash and mix the leaves with water (make it in high concentrated solution) and pour it slowly to the leeches and then slowly but sure, try to pull it...remember, so slooooooowwwwlly..
