Hi,
The weight of my gel slice weighs 428 mg and the maximum weight per spin column is 400mg. What is the consequence of loading everything into one spin column?

you can do two things:
1. put everything over 1 column (this is what i should probably do)
2. cut the slice in two peaches of 214 mg and use two column

to be honest, i never weight slices, if you were using the Qiagen kit, just add 450 ul buffer QC and wait till the slice has disolved
