Ecology/EnvironmentWould it be possible to have a forum dedicated to ecology and the environment?
It's possible to bring up ecological topics in the various forums, but it's such an interdisciplinary field that it would do well in it's own forum. Dave
Lol... a person named Dave asking for an ecology forum

Hmm,
I suppose I coulda posted in one of the older forums, but it can't hurt to bring up topic again. After all, I'm right Here's the argument: If I want to talk about island biogeography, or patterns of extinction using cross/species patterns, I wouldn't have a proper forum to post in. Tropical defaunation. Food webs. Habitat matrixes. The effects of pollution/overpopulation. The list goes on, and on, and on. Yes you would: general discussion

Fine.
While I have an active topic though, I might as well ask (cuz I can't find out using a search) what's the deal w/biology points? How are they awarded and what are they good for?
There is whole a thread about it in the Forum suggestion. But Basically the answer is "The Admin only knows"... Or from what he told the mod, he has yet to define something... Patrick

I would just like to point out that the Mods made a SMASHING GOOD decision in creating the ecology forum, which has now surpassed the bioinformatics forum and will undoubtedly surpass physiology soon.

Yes, let's all applaud the mods.
*applause* Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

The physiology forum is newer than the ecology one, i think. Also, like I noted before the physiology forum is not quite necessary, as questions in human physiology can go to human biology, questions on animal physiology can go into zoology etc.
