Who did we evolve from?Moderator: BioTeam
This is a common misconception propagated by anti-Darwinists who are desparate to try to find something to use against evolution. Sadly, it is not true. Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

From what I've read of it, I found The Origin of Species to be a rather religious book, frequently making references to "the Creator." Evolution in no way disrupts belief in God; in fact, the Catholic Church has been accepting of evolutionary theory since long before Darwin, since the time of Augustine during the 4th century. People who think religion and evolution are mutually exclusive are barking up the wrong tree. Evolution tells me not just that God created us, but also how. Darwin himself was a devout Anglican until the death of his daughter caused him to question God's goodness, and Pope John Paul II even went so far as to make evolution a part of official Church doctrine. Relgion has nothing to fear from evolution, nor does evolution have anything to fear from religion. And as for Judas, well, that's a whole 'nother thread right there . . . Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.
