Preparing for IBOI am trying for IBO(international biology olympide).
How should I prepare for this to get success?
Congrats if u've been selected as a representative of our country this year. And BEst of lucky efforts.
So, U may be knowing most of the following things- U can buy some Qbanks of following mtG or Arihant pubblishers. Check out the INBO[ Indian National Biology Olympiad ] and IBO sites where some sample qs and the pattern of the exam is explained [ =weightage given to diff. topics, expected qualities , qs in practical exam etc.] . U can get earlier INBO test papers and their soln from ur college or from ur seniors. Understand what type of student they want to select... try to add or improve the expected qualities of yours. Try to make some qs yourself. Use internet. Make ur self used to typical type of INBO qs and the -ve marking scheme. To get ur bio concepts clear read - Campbell, Raven Jonson or internet is the best info source... but be proffessional while using all these. Consult Seniors like MrMystery [ Andrew] in this forum. hrushikesh
Seniors... Lol...
I didn't go to IBO last year.. Still upset about that... But anyway, the best advice i can give is an old christian saying: "until you reach god, the angels will kill you". It basically means don't aim to high, don't start studying for IBO until you are qualified. if you are not yet qualified, study the books you will nead for your local, county national etc olimpiad. As for the bibliography of IBO, well, buy Campbell and Reece 7th edition. If you can not find the book in your country you can buy it off the internet-60 pounds or something.
