Hunger?hey all,
ok, this is a big doubt i've had. why do some people feel more hungrier than the other? is it just years of being used to eatin' more or is there more biological to it ? advance thanks HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! VeenaandNivyah
there's a drug that advertised the ability to curb your hunger so a part of it is psychological/genetic.

Hunger is your brain inducing a feeling in your stomach area telling you "hey, your body needs food." Different people have different brains. And the signals from the brain are slightly different.
does this mean that hunger doesn't depend upon the size of a person? are genetic and other stuff also involved?

Actually, I've read that there're two physiological processes that initiate hungry feelin' which are:
-Glucostatic theory gives you hungry feeling when the amount of glucose in blood below the normal level. It also initiates the deformation of glycogen in the liver. -Lipostatic theory gives uou hungry feeling when the amount of fat is below the normal level. (I think this is the later response because glucose digestion is a way ahead). more info, ask my lecturer... Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Not just those two victor, there are more mechanisms. Like it was mentioned, even receptors in the stomach help determine wether we are hungry or not.
The hunger "headquarters" is the hypothalamus by the way... "As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter

do not it quite unbelivable? did someone can be the other one so that he/she can feel the other feeling? I have question long time ago. how other human feel?, is it the same as me? how is if i become you? is it cool? how is feel? and i won't be able to do it. we can not said that someone is more hunger than other, because it is in their mind, only. I mean, when two value of hunger from two people is quite similar. we can not know the who is the more hunger than another. the limit. too close, too difficult. it is biological evidence. hunger, as Mr. Mistery said, is controled by hypothalamus. i mean the stimulus goes to hypothalamus, not medula spinalis/oblongata or others. yap. it (stimulus) is caused by response in stomach. actually when it is empty it will send information to hypothamus that 'no more food, need a food!' haha.. i make the example of word for the stimulus. yap, example can differ, but the point should the same.
i wanted to ask a question. ok see my cousin she barely eats and exercises regularly but still she dosent lose weight. is it related to her metabolic rate? also i heard some ppl eat alot & dont gain any weight. is it due to the same reason?
d nyt is darkest just before the dawn
Yes, and yes. But be aware that if you don't eat and exercise your body might develop a lack of vitamins and proteins
