Pygmy chimps/humansHumans are .7% different from pygmy chimps. Dogs and Wolves are 1% apart. Alot of that difference between us and pygmy chimps is in our "Junk" sector. As in genes that we do not use but still have. Pygmy chimps also share some of these. How closely related to pygmy chimps do you think we are.
hm...Good question. Another interesting topic might be the taxonomic classification of apes and humans. Most sources list them in separate families, but some more recent sources, such as SJ Gould's The Book of Life, list them all in the same family. Given the small genetic differences, I'm personally inclined to side with the latter classification, but of course I am no expert.
