occipital lobe and eyeswhat causes eye glasses ?
is there any kind of deficiences with occipital lobe in the brain that resulting in causing us to weare eye glasses.?????????thanks
There are many causes for poor eyesight: usually its attributed to a change in eyeball shape. In the nearsighted eye the eyeball is too long and light has difficulty reaching the retina. In the farsighted eye the opposite is true. The eyeball is too short and light has difficulty focusing on the retina.
Of course there are many other problems that cause people to wear glasses; Presbyopia, astigmatism, etc. As far as there being a defect in the occipital lobe, I wouldn't know. Perhaps someone else has some ideas?
I don't think it's really a change in eyeball shape but a change in the muscles controlling the lense.
