Water DrinkingI don't understand...... What is the advantages of drinking more water? What is the relationship between drinking more water and the removal of urea?
Does that mean that if more water is being drunk, then more urea is being dissolved and sent away as a waste product?
Thx for your reply
drinking water too much:
(not good side) = you'll go to the toilet a lot. (good site) = water helps you reducing the concentration of some chemical agents (e.g. Calcium disposal) so, it wouldn't get sedimentated and can be wasted through pee. Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
Yes but drinking too much water effects your electrolyt levels. For example, too much salt will be removed.

@Ozge
Why do you say too much salt will be removed? Water also contains electrolites you know... And the general function of the excretory system is to maintain a balanced chemical balance inside the organism? I am nowhere near an expert in the physiology of nephrons but i would say extra water will not damage your body at all... Of course i don't being wrong, so throw the books at me! I'm not talking about high amount of water. I just say "too" much. Water contains electrolites, yes. But are they enough to maintain all levels if you don't get some more by food? I'm not sure.
And about the salt: Don't eat salt (including meals) for some time. ( this time can be different from person to person). Your Na level will be low. You will probably feel dizzy. This was something I learned from a doctor. I may be wrong of course. EDIT: Here is a Google search: I'm right I guess: http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm It matters not how strait the gate

Good site. But as that site says: water intoxication(by the way a very strange term) doesn't occur if you drink too much water, it occurs if drink it too fast. And if you think of it, it is quite simple: you overload the kidneys, which produce about 18 litres of primary urine/day.
However, if you drink a lot of water but in small doses, and eat food once in a while(I suppose there are many people with the nasty habbit of eating) you are generally safe. Also, mineral water is recommended as it is rich in electrolites, even though it might cause stomach problems for some people. So, as a synthesis in what i read on the site Ozge provided, you can get hyponatremia if you drink too much water, but like it says there, unless you are 2 months old or running for the marathon, it is rare. Yes, of course it is rare. You have to drink very high amounts. But I don't think a person can drink that much if he/she is not crazy.

By the way if you drink a lot of water you might have probelms: insipid diabethes, sugar diabethes...
