Statistics - minitab - which test should i use?! please help

Postby hb465 » Mon Mar 17, 2014 12:19 am

Researchers were interested in whether baby boys and baby girls have different weight at birth. Researches selected 12 families with one son and one daughter.

Formulate a suitable null hypothesis and alternative null hypothesis.
This is what i came up with for the alternative:

The mean weight of baby girls at birth is not lower than that of baby boys.

so i'd guess that this implies a one tailed test?
Is this ok?

What test would you recommend? a paired t-test?
how do i test my alternate n.h?

i have 24 samples (12 weights for boys and 12 for girls)

Please help me.
Thanks in advance :3

It is better use manual formula to compare one tailed test.
