John is a 72 year old Irish person currently living in the UK. He has had hypertension since his early 50s and has started to develop breathing difficulties following mild exercise. His cardiologist has made an appointment to perform a gated nuclear ventriculogram to assess Michael’s heart function.

The data from the images was collected over 360 heart beats in 7 minutes with each beat divided into 24 intervals for analysis. The end diastolic radioactivity detected from the left ventricle was 6400 counts and the end systolic was 3600 counts. Upon calibration the heart was found to eject an average of 50mls per beat.

During the procedure,
1.Michael's average heart rate was…………… beats per minute,
2.the interval between each acquisition point was ……….milliseconds,
3.the left ventricular ejection fraction was……. ,
4.Michael's left ventricular ejection fraction is within the …………..range,
5.the average cardiac output was……….. litres per minute.

The answers to 1) and 2) are to the nearest whole number and 3) and 5) to two decimal places.
42, 44, 45, 49, 51, 55, 56, 59
0.38, 0.44, 0.58, 0.63, 0.64
2.57, 3.04, 3.06, 3.30, 3.33
Normal, abnormal
can some one tell me how to do the calculation and which one is correct please need help ?

1. 360 beats per 7 minutes is how many beats per one minute?
2. if there is x beats in one minute and per each beat 24 intervals were taken, how long did it take between each intervals?

You know the volume per heart beat and the number of them in 7 minutes.
And you want to know how much volume passed the heart in 1 minute.

That's simple cross-multiplication (or logic). How did you get to 1.43?
