I am having difficulty identifying this structure.

This image is from a spinach chloroplast and has been made using a Transmission Electron Microscope microscope.

I have been given this image to identify which has been took by a TEM. I have been for quite a while been comparing and contrasting many different TEM images of different structures of parts of chloroplasts but to no avail being able find even a vaguely similar match. (Both images relate to the same structure but in a different perspective.)

My instinct is telling me that it may be a part of stacks of grana being circular in structure on image C and has a stacked appearance on D. But I am not certain since I have not done this kind of identification on such a high magnification before. Hence my long search of sources to find a comparable structure.

As for the scaling of the image scale bar on image c is = 200nm and the scale bar on image d= 100nm.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The image on the left is that of a TEM, because TEM can clearly differentiate outlines or contours.

I'm not proficient with electron micrographs, but D definitely looks like a golgi. The average size doesn't fit, however. A golgi is about 2500 nm across.
I might suggest to google "TEM golgi" and look at those pictures. If they fit, great. If not, Sorry I didn't help.

I could not agree with you. The chaotic cellular structure we have did, especially TEM observation, do not as same as the text picture showed. So, excepted for some typical structure, our currently technology could not 100% distinguish subcellular structure just by TEM or SEM.
