Experatory Reserve Volume vs. Inspiratory Reserve VolumeIn Biology, we are doing this lab where individuals breathed into a spirometer to test their expiratory and inspiratory reserve volumes. These were calculated by subtracting the tidal volume with from the inspiratory and expiratory capacities
The results show that the the expiratory reserve volume is greater than the inspiratory reserve volume. How can this be accounted for. I do not understand
Your results are wrong. the inspiratory reserve volume and expiratory reserve volume are equal numerical. ~1500 cubic cm.
