methanogens

Postby science87 » Mon Aug 05, 2013 10:44 am

Hello!!

I am trying to understand a bit of the pathways undertaking anaerobic digestion, but I am quite struggling since I don't come froma biology background. In particular I keep reading a about acetOclastic methanogens and aceticlastic methanogens. I guess only one is accurate ? or are they supposed to be 2 different species?

Also, can I refer to acetoclastic methanogenic bacteria? I am not quite certain about if they are bacteria or achaea...

It woudl be great to have some clarification for those 2 questions.

Thanks!
