indole test reaction

Postby magandangbutiki » Fri Aug 02, 2013 7:53 am

guys, i used Lauryl Tryptose Broth for indole test, since the Techical Data Sheet of LTB says it can be used for such biochemical test ( it has Typtose), i incubated the 5 tubes (with inoculum) at 44.5 degrees and after 24 hrs. i dropped kovacs reagent to the tubes, after a while 1 tube has a red ring while the other tubes has green ring. And then after a while the tube with the red ring suddenly turned greenish..can anybody tell me what happened? can i report the 1 tube with red ring as positive for e.coli?
