Bioinformatics and Wet experiments

Postby Sue4 » Tue Jul 30, 2013 8:49 pm

Can someone tell me what are the errors that can be occurred when using bioinformatics? For an example, it is always easy to use bioinformatics if we want to know the function of a particular protein. But can we be sure about the function that we obtained using bioinformatics without doing a laboratory experiment? If not, what are the major reasons for this?

Thank you :)

Simply because we do not understand everything we cannot predict anything with 100%, you name it, structure, function, inhibitors, substrates...

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
