Brain/Anxiety, my situation.

Postby Leesa » Tue Nov 15, 2005 12:31 pm

Hi,
Well, im after some advice on the brain. I don't really want to explain my medical situation, but I guess to get some advice, I have to. Well hmm, I endured an experience at the beginning of the yr, where I passed out behind the wheel, since then i've been referred to neuro surgeons, and neuro pyscologists to look into why I did it, and to determine if I needed surgery.

They found I had a crimped brain stem and big ventricles in my brain, which means I have excess cerebrospinal fluid in my brain. I am not fully aware of my condition..and need some advice. I'd really appreciate it. Before I passed out, my Dad was talking to me about first aid, (this has always been a problem of mine, and I go weak at the knees, and unconscious over creams/ointments, it is very embarrassing, and I dont understand why. Is this anxiety? Some visual disturbance? Also, my scans showed I had no pressure on my brain, but I always have alot of headaches, which makes me confused. I also have troubles working out things sometimes, well most of the time, and my head gets really heavy like it wants to explode. I don't understand how there can be no pressure, when I can feel it.

I got nowhere with the neuropyscologist, and am still having tests, and she thinks its behavioural??? Do I see a hypnotherapist?

If you could help, Id really appreciate it. So far, ive got nowhere.

I am sorry I cannot help, I am not a doctor or clinician. All I know is that you got a serious injury on your nervous system and we know that it is vital to coordinate our body machinery (physical) even our feeling (psychological).

I suggest you to continue your medication, because it needs time to recover your situation. But I believe you will be okay by then. I wish for your health and happiness. Pray to the Lord :)

I am not a doctor and this is what I would do in your situation. Use the 5 senses + method and document all your findings.

Sight-does the sight of certian things(blood, bright lights) affect you

Sound-does high pitched or low frequency sounds as affect you

Touch-does hot, cold, rough, smooth feelings affect you

Taste-can you taste all foods correctly. Do some foods have no taste that should

Smell-are there any smells that have no smell or make you sick that shouldn't

Mental imagery-Sit in a dark room and picture happy, sad, violent, calm, scenes in your head. Does a paticular scene have an affect on you.

If all of these are ok then your brain processing is not affected. If some of these things do affect you, then it could be a chemical imbalance or physical brain damage in my opinion. Again I am not a doctor but you did ask for any help.

Do you ever have seizure?
Are you allegic to anything (you said you pass out over ointmen?) What is in those ointmen?
Maybe you are poisoned by some enviromental thing too

But you should see a real doctor! If your doctor cannot figure it out, find another one

I don't think they are seizures. I've passed out for years, about 8 now, and I always go unconscious when I black out. I saw my neuro registra, and she's not too fussed.
