Hi, another MCQ type question, for my engineer exam:
Is albumin the main sterol transporter? I tend to say no, but I' not sure. For all I think I know, albumin transports thyroid hormones, but as to sterols, I have no idea...

A reduction in blood pressure also decreases risk and can be achieved by……………9………………. .( (9)adopting a vegetarian diet , (10) taking aspirin daily, (11)taking an ACE inhibitor )

(1)build sports facilities, 2)promote health check ups , 3)increase tax on tobacco
(4)wine , ( 5) saturated fats , (6)protein
(7)meditating, ( 8)walking to work each day
(9)adopting a vegetarian diet , (10) taking aspirin daily, (11)taking an ACE inhibitor
I did in this way but I have correctly selected 2 the rest is wrong but this time iam saying

I don't think that's any shown link between smoking and blood pressure, so I'd go for the check ups. SF and walking seems alright. The last one could be actually argued about (at least by vegtarians), but ACE inhibitor is specifically designed to lower blood pressure so that's probably what they wanna hear.

susan is setting up an experiment to test whether fly maggots select a dark or a brightly lit environment. She sets up a chamber in which there is a gradient in light intensity from one end (dark) to the other (brightly lit). She needs to formulate matching hypotheses to test. From the list below select the matching null and experimental (alternative) hypotheses that she should use and drag them into the table.
Experimental (alternative) hypothesis.............. Null hypothesis

A)There will be a large difference between the number of Maggots in a dark environment and the number in brightly illuminated one .

B)Maggots will choose the dark environment during the night and the light environment during the day.
C)The number of maggots in a brightly illuminated environment will be similler to the number in a dark environment.

D)The Maggots will react faster in light than in dark conditions.
E)There will be more Maggots in the dark than in the light at all times.
F)There will be more Maggots in the light at all times.

A is the experimental(alternative) hypothesis
d is the null hypothesis
correct or not help please

The working and null hypothesis must be the opposite (null hypothesis is used to test for rightness of the working hypothesis). Moreover, the null hypothesis must state there is no difference/effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_hypothesis

Thus, the working hypotheses could be: A, B, D, E or F
the null hypothesis may be the only left C. The opposite to that is A.

Sue has heard that taking an over-the-counter ‘energy’ pill, which contains as much caffeine as a strong cup of coffee, makes people feel alert and ‘speedy’. She wonders if taking this pill will make a difference to the reaction times of people doing an online reaction test. Select from the following matching null and experimental (alternative) hypotheses for Susan’s proposed experiment.

Experimental (alternative) hypothesis .................................Null hypothesis
A)Taking caffeine makes you fee less tired and improves your concentration so you react in the reaction test.
B)Reaction times obtained after caffeine is ingested will not differ significantly from reaction time obtained when caffeine is not
C)how fast you react does not depend on how much caffeine you have ingested.
D)Reaction times obtained after caffeine is ingested will be significantly lower than reaction.times obtained when caffeine is not ingested.
E)caffeine makes you feel more speedy.
F)Reaction TIMES OBTAINED after caffeine is ingested will differ significantly from reaction times obtained when caffeine is not ingested

expermental b and null hypothesis is c
is that correct help
