iodine stain on potato cell

thanks everyone for all your replies, I guess I'll just go with the theory that iodine made it more visible.

if any1 has anymore suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it

Iodine is a stain specific for starch, meaning when it comes in contact with starch containing substances, it changes colors.
