scale leaf><Is "scale leaf" is same as "fleshly scale leaf" ? If not ,What is its function?
plz help help me~~><
I think "scale leaf" is different from "fleshy scale leaf". The difference is on "fleshy" thing, of course. The fleshy one has a special tissue to conserve water, while the other one does not have this structure. This is a kind of adaptation to their habitat. Some scale leaf does not color green because of lack chlorophyll, thus the function will change, not to photosynthesize anymore but rather for something else, e.g. protective structure.
