p53 question

Postby qwerter » Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:07 am

PHF20 is a transcription factor that seems to be unique to the production of p53.
(see http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 082534.htm ).

The wrap53 gene is produces mRNA that is antisense to p53 mRNA(see http://
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 072646.htm)

How could each of these two proteins could regulate cellular levels of p53?

How could a mutation in both wrap 53 and PHF20 lead to cancer in a cell?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
