HeadachesWell about a month ago, I stopped eating meat, completely. Since then my diet has consisted of pastas, veggies, fruits, junk food (I gained some weight
Anyway, I've been getting headaches nearly once or twice a day for the past week. Not sure if its school getting the best of me, or my diet catching up to me. I've been keeping plenty hydrated, not sure what is causing these. Could it be lack of protein? Greg

Well, I stop eating meat [because it's too expensive for my daily diet..] and it already happened from one month ago...
Oh, I wanna ask a thing, actually from those 20 amino-acids, how many are the essentials? my bio book said that there're 10 essential amino-acids, but my advanced bio book said 9, and the last, my genetic professor said 8. they are: Lys, Leu, Val, Phe, Ile, Met, Trp, Thr and Arg* * babies can't synthesize it but, child can... Which one is the right one? Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?

No you can not. I mean not enough. Let me explain. Firstly the protein amount in plants is very low compared to animals. The second fact is something that I read in a book and I will write the following from there:
"... proteins in food of animal origin are more digestible thab are those derived from plants. For example, the digestibility of proteins in egg is approximately 97%; that for meat, poultry and fish is 85 to 100%, and that from wheat, soybeans and other legumes ranges from 75 to 90%." and about the amino acid thing: all high school bio books say there are 10 essensial amino acids. (looks like an old info.) But all advanced biochemistry books say there are 8. Decide the difference yourself. PS: your advanced book is not wrong I think. They just included babies. It matters not how strait the gate

Well of course you can live of vegeteables. Many people are vegan/vegetarian and survive quite well. But to keep a balanced diet yu better be a little more careful. Just eat a lot of legumes (lentils and other members of their family) soy and other protein rich vegetables. If you look for vegetarian cooking websites you will find quite a lot of tips to provide you with the essential amino-acids you need. Patrick
I agree with patrick. You can deffinetly have a balanced diet if you don't eat meat. You just have to watch what you eat and calculate your aminoacids(i didn't say it was easy). or better yet buy a book where someone else did it for you.

You have to eat too much legumes to overweigh meat. And if you are trying to put off weight you will get much more calories.

Oh...thank me..I eat some leguminoceae...and I also reduce my rice portion from 1 plate/eat to half plate or less/eat. They said that, too much calories aren't good for the belly...
