gene is sumthin which determines a character.
an allele is a set of two contrasting characters specified by a gene.ie take tall and dwarf characters......it wil be coded by two genes and they are alleles of a character ie height.

An allele is the two alternative/similar variations of a gene that determine how the gene is expressed

A normal allele is the wildtype allele and the other variant is the mutant allele

fine but I want to know what is the basic difference between a gene and a allele. I find iin some books that code like TT or tt aren sometime called gene and sometime allele? Is it the same ? OR it is different as per cases of being haploid or diploid? And what about my other questions??

OK

A gene is a string of nucleotides coding for a particular protein. Due to mutation there could be many slightly different sequences coding for the same protein, which can result in different phenotypes.

When we talk about a gene, we talk about the group of all possible sequences (in different individuals) that code for the particular protein, and each of the different version will be considered an allele of this gene. The most commonly found allele is usually refered as the wild type and its name is in capital (T in your example), and less common alleles would be refered in small letters (t or if more than 2 alleles t*, t1 etc..)
So TT would be a hozygote for the wild type allele of the gene T, tt would an homozygote for the mutatnt allele of the same gene, and Tt would be heterozygote.

To differentiate alleles from genes, let's give a simpler example: For example, you wish to design a website, and to be able to design a website, you will be needing the CODES that will be encoded in a notepad. After designing a website, you can now show it to the public by registering your website, which will now allow the people to view your website using the internet. The WEBSITE represents the GENE, it is the one that people can see, but they do not know how did it became like that, that is because of the CODES which will represent the ALLELES.

Not really. If something, than the code in general is the gene, while it's concrete version (what language is it in, what you have in there etc.) is the allele.

OK. An allele is a version of a gene. Diploids that have two identical versions are homozygous. Diploids that have two different versions are heterozygous. A diploid individual can have a maximum of two alleles of a gene, one from the mother and one from the father. Within a population, though, a gene can have many, many alleles.
