A few confusions about some energy moleculesNADH and NADPH...I don't completely understand why we use both. I get the sense that it helps the cell keep a high supply because if one is used the other can be preserved. But I really don't understand the relationship here
I just know one is kept in its reduced form and one in its oxidized form, they are both coenzymes(?) and either one is used or the other Also when comparing ATP, NADH and NADPH What's the difference? I'm guessing ATP has the msot energy and the others are equal but I can't say for certain
Yeah, NADH is produced during breakdown of molecules and is further used to produce ATP in electron transport chain. On the other hand, NADPH is used for biosynthesis of reduced molecules (compare e.g. break-down and biosynthesis of fatty acids).
ATP is something rather different. It is used as direct energy currency for any biochemical reactions (not only redox). http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
